Molecular structure of the enzyme Hexokinase
The above structures are molecular structures of the enzyme
Hexokinase
. This enzyme is important in the metabolism of glucose (the only form of sugar accepted in the brain) in glycolysis. This enzyme catalyzes oxidative phosphorylation of glucose to glucose-6-phospate.
The above figures are that of the same
Hexokinase
enzyme molecules. The figure on the right is an enlarged version.
